Young Scottish Artists from the Aspire collection.
About
The Project Ability Sensation exhibition features work by Young Scottish Artists, aged 30 and under, who are currently working in our Aspire studios.
We’ve curated this exhibition to show our audiences what kind of creative activity is emerging from the younger adults in our learning disability workshops. In homage to the original Sensation, the Project Ability 30 and under exhibition collects artwork inspired by animals, news stories such as the Sycamore Gap tree and watery imagery.
Many of the exhibiting artists have recently moved from our Saturday Create studios for young people over to our weekday Aspire workshop for adults. This transition can be exciting for some and daunting for others. In Aspire, the younger artists share the studio with some of our more established artists, and the energy in the studio can inspire new ideas and foster ambitions to try new techniques. Many artists working with us have been coming along for over 20 years, and we look forward to the privilege of welcoming these Young Scottish Artists back to the studio for many years to come.
Expect an exciting mix of medium, styles and subject matter from this diverse and highly creative group of artists.
Sensation takes inspiration from its eponymous from over 20 years ago, which gathered the artworks made by Young British Artists and owned by Charles Saatchi at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
