Semiconductor: Worlds in the Making

Join us this summer at FACT Liverpool for the first major UK solo exhibition of Semiconductor, aka British artist duo Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt. Inspired by the natural world, Semiconductor make moving image, sound and multimedia installations which attempt to untangle our understanding of it. Worlds in the Making is a series of newly commissioned artworks exploring the volcanic landscapes and unique geology of the Galapagos Islands. Through documentary footage, ethereal animations and a soundtrack composition by multi-instrumentalist Oren Ambarchi, gallery visitors are transported through lava landscapes, volcanoes, rocks and minerals to a world where science fiction meets science fact.
