About
Nathalie Jolivert is an architect and artist who lives and works in Port-au-Prince. Her art is influenced by her interest in urbanism, environmental issues and human relationships. The black and white figures in her images are inspired by the silhouettes found in the metal artwork of Haiti. Urban scenes of Port-au-Prince dominated by expressions found on the colorful public automobiles, the "tap-taps", are depicted to put forth the challenges in the infrastructure of the city. Nathalie studied Fine Arts and Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Mahalia Stines is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She draws her inspiration from her homeland of Haiti and describes her work as Brooklyn meets the Tropics. Creative Director and Designer for her store Manny’s Sister, Stines introduces vèvè symbols into her interesting and colorful accessories to fit anyone’s style, tying spirituality to fashion.
