Diana Zrnic is an emerging Croatia-based artist who graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in 2018. The exhibition “Seeking For…” presents the work visual artist Diana Zrnic has produced during her stay at coGalleries’ residency program from October to January.
About
For her Berlin debut, she will be presenting paintings that focus on figures and deal with the issue of seeking identity. “Seeking For…” offers insight into Diana’s artistic process which consists in using computer-based sketches in a drawing program to translate them into bigger scale paintings. This challenging method allows her to explore the interface between painting, sculpture, photography, computer art and installation, and exploit the hidden bridges between each practice. The works result in figurative/ abstract paintings of interrelated memories Diana has recorded in the past, depicting people we all see but whose demeanors and direction we never really pause to think about.
The title of the exhibition “Seeking For…” reflects Diana’s intent that each piece connects with their observer, functioning as a mirror of our own searching, seeking and reaching - for purpose, aims, desires and identities.
In her work, Diana examines concepts of alienation and of life as a game, offering new perspectives on the various roles we play, whether consciously or not, as individuals trying to find our place in society.
