South East Coast Art Mapp is off to Folkestone and there are plenty of reasons to join us! Folkestone has a growing artistic community and a Creative Quarter housing a number of arts spaces and studios. We will be spending the day exploring this wealth of creative activity, meeting artists and curators and having a fantastic day out by the sea!
About
SALT is a new festival for Folkestone about the sea and the environment. With a full programme of talks, workshops, installations and exhibitions exploring the unique coastal environment of the South East Coast, there will be a lot see and do. SALT will be taking place at Folkestone Library, Quarterhouse, Sunflower House and the Harbour Arm, where we will also be stopping off for lunch!
We will also be taking in many of the Folkestone Artworks including the ten recent additions that were officially opened this summer. Folkestone Artworks is a gallery without walls that features 27 public works from the likes of Tracy Emin, Cornelia Parker, Yoko Ono, Pablo Bronstein, Richard Wilson and Sarah Staton.
Alongside all of this we will be visiting a number of independent spaces and studios and discovering some hidden gems. Make sure you book your place on what is guaranteed to be a great day out.
