We are presenting a new collection of large landscape paintings by the artist Rachael Dalzell. Rachael is an internationally exhibited artist currently finding inspiration in the landscape and changing seasons of Norfolk.
About
Her paintings are large and dynamic interpretations of the natural world, from coast lines to woods to wild flowers. They are as much about mood as they are of place, with a palette that reflects the colours and light on the Norfolk landscape in spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Dalzell’s application of paint is bold. Hazy washes in the background, stark lines in the fore, paint built up over a number of layers to create depth, colour to bring vibrancy. Her energetic way of working uses the immediacy of the process to create paintings that feel fresh and alive.
Dalzell’s work has been acquired for the new wing of Alder Hey’s children hospital in Liverpool and is on display at the headquarters of the Clerical Medical corporation and the Medical Council of Ireland. She has previously been nominated for the Boundary Figurative Art Prize and her work is held in private collections worldwide. Dalzell studied fine art at the Wimbledon School of Art and continued to develop her drawing technique at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain. Dalzell’s work is exhibited frequently in the UK and internationally.
Rachael Dalzell has been a regular visitor to Norfolk since her early childhood. Three years ago she moved from London, set-up her studio on the Broads and allowed the changing seasons and rural scenery of Norfolk to become the central inspiration for her work.
