Score: Mechanical Asynchronicity is a live visual-musical performance on the 28th January 2022, 7:30-9:30 pm.

About

Within this performance artist Danica Maier and composer Martin Scheuregger explore a new music score responding to the lace diagrams in the Nottingham Lace Archive. The work brings together composers, artists and musicians to experiment with disrupted repetition, glitch and line.

The lace diagrams were translated into lines and then inscribed as punch cards to be used with programmable music boxes. The musical results have been transcribed into traditional notation before further graphic renditions were created. This iterative, re-encoding process has resulted in a variety of pieces, each with differing levels of improvisation yet all stemming from the same source.
