Scorched - A Solo Show by Faye Hadfield
About
Scorched is an upcoming Solo Exhibition of Works by Artist Faye Hadfield held at 44AD Artspace. On graduating from Bath Spa University in 2018 Faye has been the 44AD resident for the past year. This exhibition is a retrospective of the work made during her time at the studio.
An array of anthropomorphic pots, smiling and screaming are exhibited. These are the first of a series which has developed into unrefined emotions. This new collection of pots deliberately suggests a status of their own materiality, deliberately crude and hollow.
The work is about a ritualistic way of making where gesture, emotions and materiality come together. These vessels are a symptom of catharsis.
Please join us at the 44AD Artspace on the 3rd of September for the private view. 6-8pm drinks will be served.
The Exhibition will be open daily from the 4th – 8th
12-5pm each day
12-4pm Sunday
