A retrospective Art show, featuring 3 generations of a creative and eclectic family of Artists, each of which have generated their own following from both Art galleries and collectors alike.
About
The show is headed by the late Dorie Schrecker 1930-20017. This exhibition, dedicated to her memory, includes a large selection of her oil paintings, drawings, giclees and greetings cards of her most popular subjects. Dorie’s highly acclaimed works include the landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, the Languedoc region of Southern France, Gardens, Narrative dreamscapes, and Portraiture.
The show also features the Sculpture of Dorie’s son Jeremy Schrecker born 1962. His beautiful, clean cut flowing works, mostly in colourful patinated bronze, speak of both humanity and elements purely distilled into a unique and elegant abstracted modernism.
Heading the younger generation of the Schrecker family, the work of Leo Schrecker is the final major feature of the show. Leo now aged 31 is the son of Dorie Schrecker’s first husband, cellist Bruno Schrecker by his second marriage. Leo’s oil paintings and photography are mostly portrait based, and through his mental sufferings depict an incredibly insightful take on humanity with all its guile, tragedy and even humour.
Supporting these three main bodies of work will be a small selection of portrait photographs by Bruno Schrecker now aged 91. During his long career as cellist with the Allegri string Quartet, Bruno has produced images of the known and established in society as well as images which link to Halcyon years of the 1950s spent with Dorie in the south of France while he studied with Pablo Casals.
