SaySay.Love’s latest series of photographic works dive into the structures, memories and landscape of water.
About
Images inspired by German artist SaySay.Love's experiences of the recent drought in Cape Town, South Africa. With jewel-like qualities, these largely abstract photographic works force the viewer to look closer at both the beauty and the complex structure of H2O – our essential life-giving, yet also life-taking natural resource. SaySay.Love work embodies social activism through photography, installation and wearable art. The imminence of extreme water-shortages in cities such as London are at the centre of this body of work. In addition to the photographs, included in the exhibition is an installation entitled ‘Message in a Bottle’ made from glass bottles each containing a direct message from a resident of Cape Town to Londoners about the drought. Clothes inspired by the SaySay.Love’s water series created by the artist in collaboration with fashion designer Jacques LeGrange will be shown at Amsterdam Fashion week.
