Richard Taittinger Gallery is honored to present Sanctums of Decision, the first solo exhibition of Iranian artist, Mehdi Farhadian, in the United States. Farhadian’s richly hued and intricately detailed representational paintings invoke memories fused with dreams and take viewers into verdant landscapes, Persian gardens, and historic interiors recognizable to those familiar with Iranian architecture. Able to deftly conjure up immediately recognizable places without depicting specific events or persons, Farhadian has said that it is the scenery itself that is important to him, not the story behind it. In creating his own tales of intrigue, his paintings spin the past and present into an unexampled narrative.
