AboutSaltaire Makers' Fair Festival Special returns this September, showcasing high quality contemporary artists and designer-makers during a two day event.
The Makers Fair is an annual arts event held in the UNESCO World Heritage Village of Saltaire, West Yorkshire as part of Saltaire Festival, a celebration of music and art. It will take place on 13-14th September in the beautiful Victoria Hall along with a collection of many other eclectic events. This year's fair promises to be bigger than ever and submissions are open until 21st March for your chance to apply for a place. We welcome applications from contemporary artists and designer makers working in ceramics, jewellery, glass, silver, metal, books, paper, leather, wood, plastics, mixed media, furniture, fashion textiles and accessories, interior textiles, printmaking and photography.
This and other events are organised by Saltaire Inspired, a charity run almost entirely by volunteers dedicated to promoting and celebrating the visual arts in and around Saltaire and seeking to support and showcase talent of established and newly emerging artists.
We have three amazing panellists this year for the artist selection; Josie Beszant, Karen Sherwood and Mark Milnes.
This year there will be the opportunity to exhibit for either one or two days. Full details and application forms are available at www.saltaireinspired.org.uk and the deadline for submissions will be 21st March 2014.
