Live music that celebrates Song as an ecstatic ritual marriage between text and music.
About
Diane Cluck is an American singer-songwriter who contributed to New York's burgeoning 'Antifolk' scene in the early 2000s. Since then, singer-songwriters Laura Marling, Florence Welch, and SharonVan Etten have all cited Diane as a major influence. She tours the US, UK and Europe, employing singing as a healing, textural experience, and her vocal style is characterised by a clipped, glottal beauty.
Ichi is a musician from Nagoya in Japan who takes the notion of a one-man band to new limits, combining his quirky handmade instrument inventions (Stilt-bass, Kalilaphone, Balloon-pipes, Hatboxpedal-drum, Tapumpet, Percussion-shoes & Hat-trick-hat) with steel-drum, ping-pong balls, toys and everyday objects.
Doors open at 7.30pm. Music starts at 8pm. The Steward's Bar will be open until 10.30pm.
Open to all age 12+. This is a Pay What You Decide event. Please register to book your seat.
West Dean College is supported by PRS Foundation's The Open Fund.
