"Safety Curtain" is an exhibition series conceived by museum in progress, which has been transforming the safety curtain of the Vienna State Opera into an exhibition space for contemporary art since 1998. The current large scale image was created by Tauba Auerbach.

About

For the nineteenth "Safety Curtain", the jury (Daniel Birnbaum and Hans-Ulrich Obrist) selected the internationally renowned American artist Tauba Auerbach. Her large-scale picture "A Flexible Fabric of Inflexible Parts III" is on display at the Vienna State Opera from 30 November 2016 until 30 June 2017.

For museum in progress Auerbach created an exclusive hanging sculpture, which refers to her Safety Curtain at the Vienna State Opera. The limited edition consists of two intertwined parts and comes with a hook and instructions for hanging it on the wall as well as with a stamped and numbered collector’s box, which is signed by the artist. The purchase of this limited edition will help to continue the exhibition series in the Vienna State Opera. Purchase details
