About
Sadie Hennessy lives and works in Whitstable, Kent. She was the winner of the Jealous Graduate Art Prize in 2010. Sadie has a reputation for making controversial work, with both her Gary Glitter Rock and Children's Tatoo Parlour making national headlines in recent years.
Sadie says 'I like to scratch away at the veneer or civilization to find the darkness beneath. I aim to unsettle my audience whilst eliciting a jolt of recognition in them too. I am not afraid to use humour in my work to create a reaction, but it definitely comes from the darker end of the comic spectrum.'
Although all are welcome, please be aware that you may find some of the work unsuitable for children.
