For this year’s E17 Art Trail, Tony Blackmore, Jason Hawkridge and Mark McClure are creating site-specific art based on sacred geometry; an ancient geometry constructed by only a pair of compasses and a straight line.
As part of 2017’s E17 Art Trail, Walthamstow-based artists, Tony Blackmore, Jason Hawkridge and Mark McClure, are creating site-specific artwork for the exhibition Sacred Geometry. All three use mathematics in the art-making process and are all well-suited for this year’s Art Trail theme of STE(A)M, the acronym that recognises the place of Art alongside the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In particular for St. Peter's, each artist is exploring the notion of sacred geometry; an ancient geometry whose visual forms are constructed by only a pair of compasses and a straight line.
Come and enjoy the art in this historic environment, partake in tea and cake and walk it off in the beauty of Epping Forest.
