The Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait prize continues at PIANO NOBILE until the 23 September 2019, showcasing 140 shortlisted self-portraits by British and Irish artists.

About

The prize, in its fifth iteration, commemorates the development and diversity of self-portraiture in British contemporary art.

View the winning self-portrait by painter David Dawson, who was Lucian Freud’s assistant, alongside works by Eileen Cooper RA, Colin Davidson, Kirsty Latoya, Angela Palmer, Bill Woodrow RA, David Begbie, Jonathon Yeo, and Julian Opie, among many others.

The original Ruth Borchard Collection was a life-long project of writer and collector Ruth Borchard (1910-2000).
