Strangelove: moving image festival presents Running with Nuns - a talk by Adrian Rifkin.
Running with Nuns is an essay in quotation as a means of critical procedure as well as of story telling: it sets out from the crazed disruption gender as such in a scene from Fassbinder’s The Year of Thirteen Moons (1978) to compose a fresh figure of liminality through one of conservatism, submission and the normative structures of liturgical rigour. The ‘taking’ of the veil as a western norm will be thrown into the contradictory western norm of taking it off … as a kind of political dark comedy.
Tickets are free and open to the public but booking is essential: BOOK HERE
