- Hastings Contemporary is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from Hastings train station. Direct train services run regularly to London, Brighton and Ashford International.
Inspired by Marcus Harvey’s tough, but humorous, ceramic sculptures, create your own collaged composition using bas relief templates of typical British memorabilia, air drying clay and hand modelling techniques - taking a piece constructed from multiple elements home to dry and colour.

Inspired by Marcus Harvey’s tough, but humorous, ceramic sculptures, create your own collaged composition using bas relief templates of typical British memorabilia, air drying clay and hand modelling techniques - taking a piece constructed from multiple elements home to dry and colour. Choose your own historic figure or even a family member to turn into a Harvey-esque portrait.
This workshop is suitable for 6-12 yr olds.
Stephanie Rubin studied Fine Art Sculpture, drawing, casting methods and construction at City and Guilds of London Art School. Her early training is rooted in traditional sculpture, archaeological restoration and working within art bronze foundries. Experience gained from working with ancient historical works and in contemporary performance environments has led to a number of influences on her practice.
Stephanie’s collaborative piece Perfect Storm was shortlisted for the Hove Plinth project in 2015.
