Roni Sherman Ramos' work resides in abstraction. Yet, wherever, the eye comes to rest,  it may find a familiar image, an organic form, a figure or even some creature that only you notice, that speaks in your language. At the same time, the paintings are defined by form, structure, harmony and movement – music in a pictorial mode. Soft and hard edges, unlikely pairings and contrasts illuminate these pieces. Markings made in bold and nuanced color ultimately tell of the past and of the future, of intimacy and of global awakenings.

Among the paintings, some politely invite the viewer to “enter”, while others grab you by the collar and pull you right in. Whatever the experience, whatever your response, these works make for a fresh, animated conversation.
