The exhibition ROCK.FUNK.PUNK. presents unique photographs of legendary musicians and concerts from the late 1960s till today.
About
In the spotlight are photographs of Rock, Funk and Punk and the legacy of these genres in the current music scene. Over 150 images of Michael L. Abramson, Susan Barnett, Pep Bonet, Anton Corbijn, Stanley Greene, Bob Gruen, Gijsbert Hanekroot, Barbara Klemm, Günter & Felix Pfannmüller as well as Derek Ridgers show the internationally famous clubs and stages – from the alternative Punk Club Scene in San Francisco in the 1970s to the annual ‘Rock am Ring’ festival at the Nürburgring, that is one of the largest music events worldwide.
At the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt icons of recent musical history such as Iggy Pop, Janis Joplin, Udo Lindenberg, Frank Zappa, The Dead Kennedys, The Rolling Stones, Motörhead, Coldplay, Beth Ditto, Jay Z, Metallica and Die Toten Hosen can be seen. Bands and musicians are photographed on stage and backstage – intimate and proximate. In addition, the show offers a selection of album covers from private collections and photographs of extravagant fashion-statements from the music scene.
There will be an exhibition guide including texts concerning the exhibition, the photographers and the musicians as well as pictures of the exhibition.
Our media partner for ROCK.FUNK.PUNK. is Journal Frankfurt.
