Opening 1 May 2015, 6 – 9 pm

It was 50 years ago today... 1965 was probably the most revolutionary year in the history of rock music, a turning point – Bob Dylan switched to the electric guitar, played 'Like A Rolling Stone' and asked the bewildered audience at the Newport Folk Festival "How does it feel...", the Beatles revealed their 'Rubber Soul', the Rolling Stones could not get no 'Satisfaction', The Who caused 'My Generation' to explode on stage, and their drum set as well, in New York Velvet Underground gave their first concert, as did The Doors in Los Angeles...
To celebrate this 50th anniversary, we are staging 'A Rock 'n' Roll Cathedral' with paintings of rock icons by the artist duo Abetz & Drescher, veritable church windows by British artist Neal Fox, an altarpiece by anonymous artist Snapple, and a chapel for the Berlin patron saint of rock 'n' roll: St. David (Bowie) from Hauptstrasse 155, Berlin-Schoeneberg, who with his 'Heroes' made a contribution to the fall of the Berlin Wall that should not be underestimated.
