About
Inspiration often found in ancient themes, that portray reality and illusion. continuing developing an artist language, especially through abstractions to emphasise the underlying atmosphere and structure.
Techniques and skills are important as well as the subject, especially when considering her native Latin-American art where expression of the soul appears on the surface of the art work. She is constantly trying to develop the use of traditional mediums using a mixture of techniques which allow her to developed her unique artistic language; through gilding, glue painting, oil and encaustic paint, and other work in printmaking, and mosaics.
She also creates mosaics for commission works, as she enjoys seeing their significance in the cultural and spiritual environments.
Apart from her art, Rocio specialises in the restoration, production and finishing of fine frames which are often gilded and hand painted. Some samples can be seen in the gallery
