Robin Alexander joins Jane Sellars to discuss the life and work of his mother, the artist Isabel Alexander (1910-1996).

About

This event coincides with the first major retrospective of Isabel Alexander's work at the Mercer Art Gallery featuring over 50 prints, paintings and drawings.

Alexander trained at the Slade School of Art, London in the 1930’s then travelled widely in Europe and lived for the last 20 years of her life in Yorkshire, where her work attracted a strong following. The works on show reveal her extraordinarily diverse career as an illustrator and artist, influenced by her great love of the British landscape and the natural world, as well as her great empathy for the disadvantaged.

Places for 'Robin Alexander: In Conversation' are limited, please book in advance.  Tel 01423 556188 or email museums@harrogate.gov.uk
