About
Passages through Stillness is an exhibition from Robert Berlin, composedof photographs taken during a recent trip to Japan. The exhibition seeks to evoke
the contemplation of silence, which is integral to the
practice of Japanese culture and Shinto philosophy.
The artist captures movement in a subtle way, creating images where
colour and form give the work a pictorial style, where the
ephemeral nature of the image creates compositions that juxtapose the traditional
Japan with the contemporary one.
As the title suggests, it is a show that invites reflection and comprehension:
an intimate vision of the concept of calm and quietness.
