About
Join us to share and discuss rights-focused approaches to arts participation. The network takes place quarterly, raising questions and discussing how a rights-focused approach might:
• Engage those most marginalised, excluded or discriminated against
• Address the power imbalances that create these conditions
• Advocate for structural and systemic change at personal, community, organisational and societal levels
• Highlight some of the ethical dilemmas of arts engagement work
Attendees will be encouraged to share learning, skills and resources from their own practice.
This network event is aimed at artists, arts professionals and those working in community settings. Everyone is welcome to join us, regardless of what stage in their career or practice they are at.
Lunch and refreshments are provided (included in ticket price).
The Rights in Focus Network has grown out of conversations which began at a two-day event held at Autograph in April 2018 called Rights in Focus: A 2-day Exchange Exploring the Politics of Engagement.
