New work by Richard Sharples incorporating video, sculpture and prints.
About
Brighton From Memory (& other stories) is a collection of new video, sculpture and prints by Richard Sharples.
Much of the work featured in the exhibition grew out of the discovery of some old super 8 films that the artist had shot on a day trip to Brighton in the summer of 1985. Watching this footage, not seen for thirty years, and trying to piece together memories of the day when it was filmed is what began the process of making this work. It is concerned with how we navigate our relationship with the past as we age.
The exhibition also includes film and sculpture on similar themes, developed from some of Richard’s more recent shows.
Private view: Thursday 2nd April 2015, 6:00pm – 9:00pm.
Exhibition runs from 3rd April – 24th April 2015
Gallery viewing by appointment.
