Internationally renowned British sculptor, Richard Deacon, premières his latest work: Weather.
About
The installation consists of three pieces constructed using elements composed of multiple twisted bundles of wood. The rhythms of the elements and the gaps between them evoke, for Richard, associations with rainfall or drifting clouds.
Richard Deacon won the Turner Prize in 1987. In 1998 he was elected to the Royal Academy and received a CBE in 1999. He represented Wales at the Venice Biennale in 2007.
Materialisation: an exploration of sculpture through materials. Work by Ysgol Bro Hyddgen GCSE Art students inspired by the fabricated constructions of sculptor Richard Deacon. Supported by the Friends of The Tabernacle.
