A site-specific installation with visuals and soundscapes by Dutch / Irish multidisciplinary artist Richard Bolhuis

About

In the world of visual arts, Richard Bolhuis(NL/UK) is widely considered a musician. In music however, Bolhuis is likened more as a visual artist. He maintains a sense of mystery and an altruistic urge to create, all the while being a headstrong and vulnerable spirit. Instead of letting one art form define or encompass his body of work, he carves out his own space.

His interdisciplinairy installations consist of soundscapes, film loops, drawings and performances. Many of his installations take place outside. Murals and drawings on squares, windows, buildings and towers become one with the natural surroundings.

Bolhuis exhibited and performed in the Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam), Groninger Museum (Groningen), Paradiso (Amsterdam), STUK (Leuven) and during the Le Guess Who? Festival.

Ancestral Roots in Hundred Years Gallery is a site specific installation.

The Ancestral Roots exhibition is supported by Mondriaan Fund, Netherlands
