A new photographic installation of self portraits by Ricardo Horatio Nelson unearthing sentiments of queer Jamaican diaspora.

About

Untitled is a series of self portraits bourne through the artists internal processing of his naturalization as an American citizen and subsequently what it means being a queer black man in America. Vulnerable, naked, hanging and white washed with eyes open communicating (to those willing to truly see him) a sense of quiet almost comfortable despair.

Ricardo Horatio Nelson is a Jamaican born queer artist in self imposed asylum in New York. A fashion and portrait photographer, he uses the medium as a way studying, looking, and perceiving his subjects' humanity to cultivate an environment of empathy which embraces the vulnerability of the human experience, opening the pathway to understand his own.
