3 Artists present a multimedia installation about possession, loss, plenty, transformation. time passing, and decay.
About
Three artists working with different mediums exploring themes of time, decay, possession, loss. and transformation. Things once desired and held can disappear suddenly, or slowly. Everything transforms, including what cannot be seen.
Laura Giraldo Diaz is a Colombian, Berlin-based audiovisual art creator who will share her master thesis project: "Out of Pupa". It is a mixed-media installation reflecting her bereavement and recovery process after her mother's suicide. "Pupa" is the life stage some insects undergo to transform between immature and mature stages. This exhibition is a colorful multi-layered experience in which the artist shares her journey, told through various art forms.
The photographic works of Ria Siegert deal with valuations, as well as random forms and structures that arise from everyday actions. Her photographic selections compose the unnoticed into still lifes in order to enter into a dialogue with the viewer about aesthetic views. You will never look at vegetable skins and fruit rinds the same way again.
Debbie Davies presents her ongoing project "This Page Intentionally Left Blank". Using discarded paper and other materials she creates assemblages that resemble flowers. The re-formed paper reminds us of our consumerism, and the evidence of things desired, purchased, and eventually forgotten. The artist also creates photography and video from the sculptural artworks.
