Phil's current work explores the often magical interplay between land, sea and sky. He captures the evening sunlight, scattering across beaches and through trees, enhancing the often unnoticed textures and shadows. By using high horizons with little sky or brilliant sunlight juxtaposing intense shadows and textures he creates the mood. Phil's landscapes invite the viewer to step into the picture and experience the solitude of the location. With a palette of cool, soft colours he evokes a sense of peace and tranquillity whilst using stronger hues to generate dark, sultry shadows encapsulating the aura and atmosphere of the ever-changing daylight.
