SomoS Arts with the support of the Arts Council Korea, presents response-ability, a group exhibition that addresses humanity’s responsibility for other species and the environment.
About
With the dramatic increase of extreme climate events and the extinction of various species, we see the earth reaching its limits. Despite how technology allows us to live an eco-friendly life, we continue the imprisonment and abuse of animals, clear and burn forests, exploit nature to satisfy our desires, and prioritize economic efficiency strictly. Is the peaceful, harmonious coexistence of humans with other species and the environment even possible?
Response-Ability speaks about these conflicts and dilemmas and does not shy away from making us uncomfortable. Indeed, it follows Donna Haraway's admonition to "stay in the trouble," in seeking symbiotic relationships between various species.
Opening reception on Friday, February 3, 6-9 pm with a performance by Paulina Miu Kühling and Ola Zielinska (OTUCHA Collective) at 7:00.
