Art In The Ark, is proud and excited to present a new selection of artwork by 21 professional artists, to be displayed for seven weeks in the public spaces at The Ark Centre in Basingstoke.
The exhibition will include painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media pieces with works on display mainly in the Foyer, Atrium and BlueCafeBar. The show runs from 29th April 2013 to the 13th June 2013. All artwork will be available for sale, with each artist donating a proportion of that sale to the Ark Medical trust.
In January the Ark put out another open call to creatives across the country. Artists were invited to consider the title âResonance', a term with a particular scientific meaning whilst also describing a more personal connection with the viewer. The result is a very diverse range of art with some outstanding techniques on show. Winchester artist Kate Theodore's Picasso-esque wanderings with the brush particularly stand out, Nadja Gabriela Plein's new vibrant watercolours lie somewhere between the loose style of Matisse and the solidity of Peter Doig's Landscapes, whilst David H Jones channels the intensity of Barnett Newman in his deep blue acrylic paintings. The full list of featured artists can be found on the Art in the Ark Blog.
