The premiere performance of Simon Allen's latest composition that combines instrumental sounds and electronic processes with a libretto by Alasdair Middleton and moving image by artists Joe King and Rosie Pedlow. Resonance explores live interplay of the senses and celebrates our ability for freely associated thought. Performed by a unique ensemble of artists including: Tom Fisher (speaker), Elaine Mitchener & Rebecca Askew (vocalists), Sylvia Hallett (strings, dulcitone & effects), Jan Hendrickse (winds and processing), Eliza McCarthy (prepared piano and dulcitone), Paul Moylan (double bass & dulcitone), Dai Pritchard (clarinets & pump organ). Lighting is by Katharine Williams with co-direction in development from Rachel Bagshaw. Audio description by William Elliott. Following the performance there will be a signed talk in the auditorium lasting approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Resonance at the Still Point of Change is supported by Unlimited, the ground-breaking programme that celebrates arts and culture by disabled and deaf artists on an unprecedented scale for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Part of Southbank Centre's Festival of the World.
