Inspired by personal relationships, life observations and a pride in her Grimsby heritage 'Remember Me?' is a retrospective exhibition of mixed media textiles by artist Sue Stone
In this exhibition Sue Stone invites the viewer to take a glimpse inside her life. On the lower floor there is a retrospective of work made between 2006 and 2016. This includes her first figurative piece ‘The Wedding’ which was made in 2006 .
On the upper floor there is a series of portraits and self- portraits made between 2015 and 2018.
A key piece on the upper floor is 63 ; a self-portrait made up of 63 images made between January 2015 and January 2016. Each portrait represents a year of Sue’s life (up to January 2016)
Another series of portraits and self-portraits looks at relationships with, and between family members. These include ‘Family Tree’ which is a representation of grandparents, parents, sons, daughters, and in laws and 'Family Portrait' a look at Sue Stone's immediate family members.
Her most recent work made in 2018 is inspired by both her own and others memories.
