For the duration of ten days Jupiter Woods will host Epona's Well, a presentation by Karen Kramer.
About
Epona's Well is both depository and reliquary, memorial and inventory. Its artifacts are modest but precious and bountiful - offerings from the river to the racehorse. This installation furthers Kramer's ongoing exploration of temporality as a trauma of varying scales including human, archaeological and geological. It also elaborates the act of collecting as an act of mourning, the symbolism of burial and the construction of the archival.
A reading room will accompany the presentation, operating as an adjacent display of research material, approaching themes derived from Kramer's practice. This space will include contributions from invited guest practitioners.
Two public reading group events will take place on Sundays – 21 and 28 June – serving as occasions for collective discussion of key materials travelling within the artist's research. For more info and reading material please email hanna@jupiterwoods.com
An online element of Epona's Well will launch concurrently to the presentation in the gallery at www.eponaswell.com
remarks upon method is a curatorial project by Hanna Laura Kaljo, exploring 'intimate' strategies for engaging with research-led artistic practices.
