An introduction for people cutting lino for the first time, amazing results in a short space of time.
In two days, or three evenings, we will be developing a design to the block and then cutting it. Students will be lent gougers so that they can work on the image at home which makes the best use of the studio time and advice of the tutor. Linocut magically transforms a drawing into a whole different realm and the results can be very exciting and inspire people to continue. It is very addictive.
At the end of the course you should be able to print independently and be ready to attend Open Access at East London Printmakers. You will also be able to move on to an intermediate level course in the same technique.
