Following Armando's high successful exhibition at Zari Gallery in March 2017, we are pleased to once again be hosting the thought provoking work of this Neomodern artist.
About
Combining Renaissance style painting techniques with contemporary abstract style, Armando Ara invites us to consider our sense of humanity in the context of mystery and wonder. His work combines veils of glaze and paint to both emphasise and blur the human form simultaneously, causing the viewer to rethink their notions of self through the transitory nature of time. In Reflections we see a body of work that conveys not only feelings but also a contemplative state of mind with an aim to induce almost a meditative process for the viewer. Armando’s work can be used to assimilate our senses, inviting us to explore a deep appreciation of self through ethereal depictions of form. Offering a delicate vision of the human form through a considered, subtle palette and a deliberate sense of poetic narrative, Armando therefore invites us to appreciate a languid, contemplative space. As such, Reflections ultimately symbolises a resistance against the possibility of a meaningless life.
Ultimately, Reflections helps us to make sense of the multi-faceted and ever-changing world around us through the wide variety of emotions and feelings which the work provokes within us. Fragility, for example, is presented as a source of deep beauty, while love is seen not only as tender and benign but as a vital weapon in the ongoing battles inevitably embedded in the human condition.
We warmly invite you to visit Zari Gallery in March to experience Reflections, and look forward to welcoming you.
