About

Stone presents an intimate investigation of site, monument and the monumental in art practice through the reenactment of a memorial. Participants are invited to bring an unmarked bouquet to the gallery and lay it in succession with others over one weekend. The reenactment is both an evocation of real events and exploration of anonymous gesture in installation form. Stone envisages a temporal site, a performative space/social performance that blurs the boundaries between public and private expressions of grief, permanence and transience, fact and fiction.
