art of the handler, miriam thorpe thorpe's work investigates the material form of information; the mass of paper in which data is documented, processed and stored. with little thought of the final outcome, thorpe immerses herself in compulsive and seemingly neurotic activities for days and weeks on end. the work is unintentionally sequential, created from handmade and mechanical methods of reproduction and replication. vestigium [pulvis], kelly cumberland works from local artist kelly cumberland who's work explores the change and removal, growth and deterioration of the life and nature of a virus. Her ‘dust' and dissected drawings represent the paradoxical fragility and strength of microbiological structures.
