Ivan Taylor hails from Staffordshire and is currently President of the Society of Staffordshire Artists. He studied Fine Art and Graphics at Stoke and Stafford Colleges and had a career as a graphic artist, culminating in his role as Head of Graphics for the Staffordshire County Education Department. A professional artist for the last eighteen years, his art work, in both oil and watercolour, captures landscape views and his work can be seen influenced by the classic English landscape artists such as John Constable and Turner, with a flash of the twentieth century's Edward Sego in the use of clear colours.
His Shrewsbury exhibition at Millard & Lancaster is the latest in a long line of successful shows which first began back in 1972, since when he has exhibited through the UK, in Belgium, France, Canada and across the USA. Ivan has works in notable public and private collections across the globe and, unsurprisingly, he has won numerous awards including the Rowland Hilder Prize in 2006, whilst his watercolour works have been selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour exhibition for successive years.
Ivan Taylor's exhibition at Millard & Lancaster marks the first exhibition of his work in Shrewsbury.
