b.1976 Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sebastian Muscio studied art at the atelier of the artist Pablo Siquier in Argentina, and after a brief incursion at the Faculty of Literature, he has resumed his art studies in London. He now lives and works in London.

About

He is concerned with the delicate balance between “experience and communication, between form and content, between truth and poetry”, and he has developed a personal method of working, in which he attempts to construct a pictorial language using a restricted range of elements. He explores repetition and accumulation as forms of composition and uses mechanical means to produce work, such as the use of patterns or grids, shielding off areas, and layering.

For this exhibition he has continued using traditional painting media such as acrylics and canvas, applying multiple layers of thin paint to create patterns against a plain colour background. Each layer consists of hand-drawn, random geometrical figures in a process that is repeated gradually, with some layers re-painted several times and other only once.
