Life and Colour with Shropshire based Penelope Timmis
South Shropshire based Penelope Timmis returns to The Granary Art Gallery in May 2012 for a selling exhibition of her brightly coloured and energetic works. Penny uses a variety of materials such as pastels, watercolour, charcoal and acrylic paint to create her exciting mixed media pieces, which depict scenes of landscapes, animals and still life.
The artist states; "Colour and movement are what I look for in all that I see around me and I hope are reflected in my paintings."
Penelope has been painting seriously for around 10 years now, and she continues to host solo shows and joint exhibitions around Wales and the West of England. In 2011, Penelope was elected as an associate of the Birmingham Society of Art and an Associate of the Society of Women Artists. She won best entry with the Royal Birmingham Society of Arts in 2009 and was short listed for the Daily Mail âNot the Turner' prize in 2004.
