London based Brian Hodgson will be exhibiting his photo realist paintings in the Granary Art Gallery throughout February 2013, which have a focus on familiar setting in different light conditions.
Since achieving a First class honours in his painting and photography degree, Brian has developed paintings to create works with a photographic quality. Looking at a variety of subject matters and using oil paint as his primary medium, there is a particular focus on light and shadow in many of his paintings. His dramatic and very precise technique of capturing cathedrals on canvas, show his ability to render settings accurately whilst creating a sense of mood.
Brian's skill in painting also shows within his other subjects matters; when executing the detailed texture of glass, leaves and even the fabric on children's toys.
Having exhibited extensively around The South of England, including areas such as London, Kent, Caterbury, Southport, Wiltshire and Salisbury, this will be the first time Brian has had a solo show in the West Midlands.
