David Boyd Haycock is a freelance writer and curator, and the author of a number of books, including Paul Nash (2002) and A Crisis of a Brilliance: Five Young British Artists and the Great War (2009). In this talk he explores the extraordinary British artistic response to the First World War. This will include a discussion of work by a wide range of painters, including David Bomberg, Paul Nash, C.R.W. Nevinson, William Orpen, William Roberts, John Singer Sargent, Stanley Spencer, Henry Tonks and Edward Wadsworth.
