REALrecogniseREAL is an exhibition of exciting, emerging artist?s Robert Reed and Joel Muggleton at ?The Acquire Arts Gallery,? Battersea Park Road, Battersea from September 18th - October 1st.
Reed and Muggleton have used their distinct and channeled eyes as part of a new generation of progressive creatives, crafting REALrecogniseREAL as an event showcasing new work.
Joel Muggleton has transformed the top floor of the gallery with his room-sized installation, referencing an abandoned construction site of sorts. He creates contemporary sculpture with packaging and construction supplies, what he refers to as ?job materials?. He activates a worth in these materials. Normally associated with the protection of what we hold valuable, by referencing objects that function together; ?a shift from that which contains to that which is contained?. This is Muggleton?s first major exhibition in London after exhibiting at KUBE gallery and an active involvement in Bournemouth?s Ishihara shows.
Robert Reed has taken another giant leap with REALrecogniseREAL down a promising illustration career path, having been sought after by international recording artists Pete Doherty and VV Brown, and will be a creative consultant at the 40th Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts in June 2010.
Taking the exhibition downstairs, REALrecogniseREAL has placed new challenges upon his photorealistic drawing style. The pieces that he will be presenting in September are originals from a new series of personal work, using music to bind viewers into his interpretations of life, an ever-evolving example of his dexterousness.
