About
Featuring Performances by:
The Growth Eternal
Maral
The Growth Eternal is the musical project of Tulsa, Oklahoma native Byron Crenshaw – a descendant of Black Wall Street pioneers. Currently residing in Los Angeles, the jazz bassist, vocodorist, producer/songwriter/composer, artist and activist presents PARASAiL-18, his debut full-length album.
Maral has spent the past half-decade quietly honing an approach that meshes the latest in club music contortions, a range of pulverized dub effects, and samples from her library of Iranian folk, pop and classical musics.
Focusing on the interplay between sounds and culture, she combines Iranian folk field recordings with raw distorted beats, hoping it will introduce listeners to new ways of perceiving music as the old becomes new. As a DJ, she enjoys exploring music from around the world and showcasing hidden gems from past and present. Through her music and involvement in the scene, Maral seeks to both educate and have a positive impact on others.
For Listening By Moonrise, the two performances will take place at a single location within the park with magnificent views of Downtown LA and Chinatown as the backdrop for the musical soundscapes. Music will begin at 5:00 pm and finish at 7:00 pm promptly.
