Artist and musician Ansuman Biswas gives an interactive talk drawing together the many strands of Tagore's legacy into a recommendation for action

About

This event will take place in Rivington Place's PS1 gallery space amongst Anna Boghiguian's artworks for her installation 'A Play to Play', part of Iniva's current exhibition Tagore's Universal Allegories. Ansuman will sit on the floor with some musical instruments and will sing, play and talk, leading people through an active process of meditation, contemplation and vocalisation. By reading between the lines we might discern the space from which words emerge, a universal space. Words lead us into this space but are eventually lost in music. Words are a finger pointing at the moon. In this event we will be encouraged not merely to spectate from a distance but to hear the call and follow wholeheartedly. Ansuman Biswas was born in Calcutta and trained in the UK. He now has an international practice encompassing music, film, live art, installation, writing and theatre.
