We present to you the collective works of twenty first-year Brighton University Fine Art: Sculpture students. The next generation. Through the course of the year we have come together to produce this exhibition. Glad to have it in such a sculpturally prominent (and quite frankly, beautiful) venue for our beginnings, we have titled our exhibition "Re:"
"Re:" for rebirth, revival, renaissance, renascence, resurrection, renewal, resurgence, regeneration, restoration, revitalization, rejuvenation, revivication, regenerate, refurbish, reincarnation. We believe the series of work we have produced fits the combinations of backgrounds and styles we have brought together over the course of this year.
Watched by the figure of Renaissance painter Fra Angelico, we have borrowed All Saint's Spirit Chapel, a centre of regrowth and wellbeing. It's sandstone walls and medieval architecture opens its doors on Monday 4th of June for our private view and on the 5th and 7th for the public.
Here stained-glass windows recount stories in the same manner as magic mirrors.
